Enfin Solar PPA in the Bay Area
The Enfin Power Purchase Agreement is one of the most popular ways for Bay Area homeowners to go solar in 2026. There is no upfront cost. The system owner handles all maintenance, monitoring, and battery replacements for the full term. You pay only for the power your system produces.
Enfin is a Qcells company, which means the program is backed by one of the largest solar panel manufacturers in the world. Home Pro offers the Enfin PPA through two installation channels: Axia by QCells (the Qcells-affiliated installer network) and Solar Tech. Both deliver the same Enfin contract, terms, and warranties. The difference is the installer behind the project.
Home Pro Roofing and Solar in Sunnyvale, CA provides roofing and solar services for Bay Area homeowners. We handle roof replacements, solar installations, and battery backup systems. We specialize in solar removal and reinstallation during reroofing. Financing available. Nearly 20 years of experience. We coordinate everything so you never manage multiple contractors. Free estimates.
How the Enfin PPA Works
Enfin owns the solar system on your roof. You agree to buy the power the system produces at a fixed rate per kilowatt-hour or as a monthly levelized payment. Either way, the cost is set up front and follows a clear annual schedule.
Upfront cost: $0
Term: 25 years
Payment options: Levelized monthly payment, or pay per kWh produced (balanced billing available)
Annual escalator: 0%, 2.99%, or 3.5% depending on the agreement you choose
Autopay discount: Small discount on the monthly payment for autopay enrollment
Production guarantee: Enfin guarantees 90% of expected output. You receive a credit for any underproduction starting after year 2.
Maintenance: Monitoring through Omnidian (third party). Repairs are covered at no cost.
Battery and inverter replacement: Included for the full 25-year term
Two Installation Channels: Axia and Solar Tech
Home Pro can deliver the Enfin PPA through either Axia by QCells or Solar Tech. Both channels offer the same Enfin financing contract, performance guarantee, and battery replacement coverage. The choice usually comes down to project scheduling, equipment preferences, and which channel is the best fit for your home.
Axia by QCells
Axia by QCells is the installation network affiliated directly with Qcells, the same parent company that owns Enfin. Axia installations typically use Qcells panels and Qcells battery storage. This is the original channel for the Enfin PPA.
Solar Tech
Solar Tech is one of California's most established solar installers and now offers the Enfin PPA alongside its other financing options like the HDM Capital prepaid PPA and the Participate Energy program. Solar Tech installations can use Qcells panels or other equipment combinations depending on system design.
We talk through both options in the free estimate. The Enfin contract terms, monthly payment, escalator, and 25-year coverage are the same either way.
What's Included for 25 Years
- All solar equipment, panels, inverters, and battery storage
- Active monitoring through Omnidian
- All repairs at no extra cost
- Battery and inverter replacements throughout the term
- Performance guarantee (90% of expected production)
- Production credits for underproduction starting in year 3
- No homeowner's insurance impact because the system is owned by Enfin
What You Are Responsible For
- The monthly payment for the energy produced
- Allowing system access for monitoring and any necessary service visits
- Notifying Enfin if your home's usage changes significantly
- Keeping the roof under the panels in good repair (we coordinate this if a future reroof is needed)
Why the Enfin PPA Works in 2026
The residential federal solar tax credit ended for cash and loan purchases on December 31, 2025. The commercial Investment Tax Credit, which covers third-party owned systems, is still available through 2027. Enfin claims that credit as the system owner and passes the value to you through a lower monthly rate.
That is why a PPA payment in 2026 can be lower than a typical solar loan payment. The PPA company captures a tax benefit you would no longer be eligible for as an individual homeowner.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Enfin? Enfin is a solar financing company owned by Qcells, one of the largest solar manufacturers in the world. They offer loans and Power Purchase Agreements for residential solar systems. The Enfin PPA is the most popular option in California right now.
Can I get the Enfin PPA through Home Pro? Yes. Home Pro offers the Enfin PPA through two installation channels: Axia by QCells and Solar Tech. Both deliver the same Enfin contract, the same coverage, and the same performance guarantee. We talk through both options in the estimate.
What is the difference between the Axia and Solar Tech channels? The Enfin financing terms are identical. The difference is the installer doing the work. Axia by QCells uses Qcells panels and a Qcells-affiliated install crew. Solar Tech is a separate installer that also delivers Enfin PPAs and can offer different equipment combinations. The right channel often comes down to scheduling and equipment preferences.
Are there really no upfront costs? Yes. The Enfin PPA has zero upfront payment. There is no deposit, no down payment, and no money owed before the system is turned on. Your first payment is due about 30 days after the system starts producing power.
What is the annual escalator? Enfin offers three escalator options: 0%, 2.99%, and 3.5%. The 0% option keeps your payment flat for 25 years but starts at a higher rate. The 2.99% and 3.5% options start lower and increase each year. We help you compare both against expected PG&E rate increases.
Will there be a lien on my house? No. The Enfin PPA does not create a lien on your home or property title. The system is owned by Enfin, which simplifies the structure.
What about repairs and battery replacements? Enfin covers all repairs at no cost during the 25-year term. Battery and inverter replacements are included. If the system underproduces below the guaranteed 90% threshold, you receive a credit.
Who handles monitoring? Enfin uses Omnidian, a third-party solar monitoring company. Omnidian watches your system, flags issues, and coordinates service visits. You do not need to manage system performance yourself.
What if I sell my home? The PPA agreement transfers to the new buyer. The new buyer is typically reviewed for credit, but the process is straightforward. You can also choose to buy out the system at fair market value at closing if the buyer prefers ownership.
Can I buy the system out of the PPA? Yes. You can buy the system at fair market value at certain points in the contract. Pricing depends on remaining contract term and current system value.
Why do most homeowners pick a PPA over a loan in 2026? With the residential tax credit gone, a PPA captures the commercial tax credit on the homeowner's behalf and passes the value through a lower rate. PPAs also include all maintenance, monitoring, and battery replacements, which loans do not. For most Bay Area homeowners, the math favors a PPA.
